1. Why we verify identity
As a supervised firm, we are required by law to identify and verify our clients before establishing a relationship and to keep that information up to date. This protects the Client, market integrity and prevents the misuse of services for unlawful purposes, in accordance with applicable anti-money-laundering law.
2. Proof of identity
A valid identity document is normally required (for example a passport or ID card) showing personal details, photograph and validity.
3. Proof of residence
A recent document evidencing the address of residence may be required (for example a utility bill or bank statement), not too old in date.
4. Source of funds
To understand the nature of the relationship, we may request information and documentation on the source of the funds used to trade.
5. Source of wealth
Where a higher risk is present, we may request information on the overall source of the Client's wealth.
6. Additional checks
We carry out sanctions screening, checks on Politically Exposed Person (PEP) status and screening against reliable information sources. We may apply enhanced due-diligence measures where required.
7. Transaction monitoring
We monitor transactions on a risk-based basis and may request clarification of transactions that appear unusual or inconsistent with the Client's profile.
8. Periodic data updates
The data collected is updated periodically. We may ask the Client to confirm or supplement the information provided, including during the relationship.
9. Incomplete documentation
In the absence of the required documentation, or where documentation is incomplete or unverifiable, we may delay account opening, restrict activity, suspend withdrawals or terminate the relationship, within the limits allowed by law.
10. Data processing
Information collected for KYC purposes is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy and retained for the periods required by applicable law.
